Carol Boothroyd
Licensed Professional Counselor, CSAT (Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist), Certified EMDR Therapist & Consultant, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) trained, IFS (Internal Family Systems) Level 1 Trained.
I find that some of the biggest barriers to healthy living are the day to day effects of unresolved trauma. Considering that trauma involves any stressful event that is prolonged, overwhelming, or unpredictable, we all deal with trauma to some degree. As a trauma therapist, I journey with my clients as they work through their darkest moments and discover the beauty of who God designed them to be.
I specialize in working with partners and spouses of individuals struggling with addiction to pornography or other sexual behaviors. I help the partner to establish healthy boundaries, deal. with the trauma of the spouse’s addiction, and help them to develop a plan for moving forward.
I lead an ongoing Sexual. Addiction Partner’s Group that is lively, vulnerable and real. I am also trained as an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) couples therapist and help couples work towards greater emotional connection and intimacy. It is a wonderful thing to see couples move from being “roommates” to having a vulnerable and intimate connection.
My educational background includes a BA in Nursing from the University of Michigan and a Masters in Professional Counseling Degree from Liberty University. I spent 10 years working for Cru, a non-denominational Christian organization, and several years working as a RN on an acute care in-patient psychiatric unit. Most importantly, I’m the proud mother of four adult children, from whom I’ve learned some of life’s most valuable lessons.

Licensed Professional Counselor, CSAT (Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist), EMDR trained, EFT trained, IFS, Level 1 Trained.
Today, many people struggle with sexually compulsive behaviors. They often tell themselves that it is normal, while being secretive about what they are doing, and they are unable to stop even when they sincerely try. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and I got this extensive training to help people find freedom from compulsive sexual practices.
Freedom is possible. Because many of my clients are married, I use EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) to help them to heal the relational wounds caused by the addiction. Additionally, because many people have unresolved trauma, I have gotten training in EMDR to help them to deal with the wounds of the past.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware and a Professional Counseling Degree from Liberty University. My working experience includes 10 years as a full-time staff member of Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) and 20 years in the staffing industry.

It takes courage to share your heart, and I consider it an honor to create a space where you feel valued, safe, and accepted for who you are and where you are in your life.
I express empathy, non-judgment, and compassion to gently help you find healing, wholeness, purpose, and meaning, as well as gain insight, and learn skills to help you develop your potential and achieve your goals. Whether or not you choose to incorporate faith, I take a holistic therapeutic approach to collaboratively integrate the spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental aspects of who you are.
Widowed in 2004, I became a single mother of two young children, who are now young adults. My experience includes being a Stephen minister, a care coordinator at my church, a suicide support group facilitator, and a paraprofessional working with adolescents with special needs. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Michigan State University and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University.
I bring much life experience into the counseling environment, providing treatment for anxiety, depression, and life changes, with a particular focus on trauma, grief and loss, conflict, and anger. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy for couples and individuals, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and somatic and mindfulness awareness, through a trauma-informed lens.

One of the most important and yet anxious decisions we can make in life is to do the vulnerable work of dealing with the “inward me.”
It can be scary to look at ourselves and our past honestly. Whether it is working on our own reactions, dealing with trauma from the past, or having difficulty in a relationship, doing the work of processing through our own thoughts, feelings, and reactions in life is incredibly hard yet incredibly rewarding.
But know this, just the fact that you are looking at doing that says that you are beginning the process of becoming a better version of you.
It is my goal to help you through that process compassionately and yet intentionally. I will help you understand what your longing for connection and attachment is and begin to see that it is at the core of why you do what you do.
I started my professional career in the faith-based community, serving individuals, couples, and families for 15+ years, often providing spiritual counseling that impacted multiple areas of life. I have worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor for over a decade. While I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as a beginning framework for individuals, I primarily use and have been trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which focuses on attachment need connection and closeness.
I am currently working towards certification in EFT. I am also currently a sitting member of the BOA for Michigan EFT, the official umbrella EFT organization in Michigan as recognized by the governing EFT body ICEEFT. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) that is used to process traumatic events and workshop training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am also currently in the dissertation phase of my Ph.D in Counselor Education and Supervision as well as an approved superisor in the state of Michigan for limited licensed counselors.

Healing starts the moment a person begins to be heard. As a therapist, I take the necessary time to listen to clients, build positive rapport, and explore the barriers and traumas that are causing distress in all aspects of life. It is my goal to ensure people feel safe and comfortable expressing their emotions, problems, and pain in a therapeutic setting.
I provide outpatient therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, and relationship conflicts through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I have a faith-based background and will incorporate it into our sessions if requested.
My educational background includes a BA from Saginaw Valley State University and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I spent 11 years working for the State of Michigan as a Children’s Protective Services Investigator. I believe with the right tools and coping mechanisms; healing is within reach and can be achieved.

Change can be difficult, but there are times in our lives when it is necessary. You may not know where to begin, or you may feel like you don’t have the skills to make those changes. Forming new habits can be challenging. I want to partner with you to make those changes, but I understand that sharing about yourself can be difficult. I’m here to help make the process of change doable.
Initiating change can prove to be a complex and multifaceted endeavor. It often entails navigating through unfamiliar territories and facing various internal and external obstacles. There are pivotal junctures in our lives where change becomes indispensable, yet the prospect of embarking on this journey can be daunting.
It’s not uncommon to experience uncertainty regarding the initial steps or to harbor doubts about possessing the necessary skills to facilitate these changes. Forming new habits entails a significant degree of difficulty, as it necessitates modifying deeply ingrained behavioral patterns and thought processes. It often involves confronting resistance, both from within ourselves and from our external environment. Additionally, the vulnerability associated with sharing personal experiences can further compound the challenges of this transformative process. Amidst these struggles, I am committed to walking alongside you as a supportive and empathetic collaborator.
I am cognizant of the emotional and psychological barriers that may arise. My goal is to provide a safe and understanding space where the process of change can unfold and where you can feel empowered to navigate this journey at your own pace. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and I have specialized training in play and sand tray therapy.

Sometimes, the waves of life can become overwhelming, and the undertow of trauma has you feeling like you are losing your footing and life seems unmanageable. Counseling is a transformative experience where you receive insight and have compassion for yourself. You are courageous to embark on this journey. You are enough.
I provide therapy for various issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, sex addiction, love addiction, enmeshment, and grief. Traumatic events and childhood trauma can keep someone feeling stuck and trapped. I use various therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches with a trauma-informed lens; this includes emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for individuals, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work with those who struggle with an addiction to pornography or other sexual behaviors, and I work with partners who feel betrayed by these behaviors. I have training from the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS) to work with partners of sex addicts, and I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) Candidate.
I graduated with my bachelor’s in education and have been a teacher for many years. I felt called into counseling and received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling at Concordia University Irvine. I can incorporate faith-based counseling if you choose.
You are the expert in your life, and parts of us can become unbalanced; together, we can make realistic boundaries and reasonable goals so that you can heal and grow.

Becky Wiklanski

If I could share one thing with the people I encounter it would be “you are enough”. Sometimes life can be hard and it knocks us down, but my goal and hopes are to help people get back up. I spent the first 11 years of my career working for the State of Michigan as a foster care case manager.
This position helped me realize my desire to be part of a solution, which led me to my Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
I enjoy working with adults of all age ranges. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with the hope to assist individuals and couples with reaching their goals for their lives.
My passions rest in helping others, assisting couples with fulfillment within relationships, and over all enjoying the life that we have. When life has us down, sometimes we just need a caring hand to help us get back on track.
